Entitlement of Benefits
Federal Workers Compensation

By law, an injured worker is entitled to the following:

• Disability indemnity payments
• Necessary medical treatment for the injury sustained or until resolved
• Medical reimbursement
• Medical Mileage reimbursement
• Vocational retraining
• Death Benefits
• Schedule Award

The Law Office of Capp P. Taylor works with Federal Employees Advocates, Inc. to advise and represent the civilian federal employees in regard to the appropriate wage loss benefits received, schedule award and medical care.

If your physician has advised that your condition is permanent we may be able to secure a schedule award on your behalf (if this pertains to your condition). We can assist you in obtaining the proper rating per the guidelines and the correct amount you are entitled to per the injured body part. You may be deemed eligible for vocational retraining. We will be able to review the case so that your rights are not overlooked.

The Federal Workers' Compensation Program (FECA) does not have time constraints in regard to entitlement, however, the Office of Workers' Compensation Programs aggressively attempts to limit the period of time that the injured receive benefits and often advises that this is not a retirement program. Many will have to be evaluated by a second opinion physician in which the injured may find the evaluation to be unfair.

We can also assist you in understanding and obtaining disability retirement benefits and social security disability benefits. The collection of these benefits may effect your workers' compensation benefits. The injured should understand these effects fully before making a decision.
Call or e-mail us so that we can assist you in obtaining and understanding your rights and entitlement to the disability benefits.
